There are a few key differences when it comes to filling baby feet moulds compared to baby hand moulds. Fill the mould correctly, and you’ll have an exact replica of the mould you created, but fill it incorrectly and you’re likely to have avoidable repair work needed.

MODULE 20: DEMOULDING
The big reveal! Where you get to peel off the alginate mould to uncover the cast within. This part of the process is one of my favourite parts, although it can be nerve wracking too! Learn how to do it in this lesson.

CHAPTER 5: FINISHING

MODULE 21: DRYING
Drying out your plaster casts is an important part of the process that must not be rushed. If a cast is not adequately dried, it can develop mould and/or affect the paint finish.

MODULE 22: REFINING
It’s very rare that casts come out perfect from the mould. They usually require some amount of refinement to tidy them up ready to be painted. Learn how to refine them in preparation for sanding.

MODULE 23: SANDING
In preparation for casts to be painted, they must be sanded. Once fully dried, your casts will be ready for this stage. Learn how to sand by hand to achieve balance and symmetry.
