HELLO!

I'm Rosie, the heart and hands behind Rosie's Casting Studio, based in Paraparaumu, New Zealand.

My journey into the world of casting began in 2019 when my son was born. He arrived 3 months prematurely, at 28 weeks gestation, weighing just 695g (1.5lbs). When he was only 3 weeks old, and still in an incubator, I had his little hand and foot cast. Those tiny casts unexpectedly became my most treasured possessions…and launched me into a new career!

Initially, I wanted to learn the craft of casting just as a creative hobby. So I began teaching myself. Eventually my friends were kind enough to lend me their children to practice on too, which then became friends of friends, and friends of friends of friends! My maternity leave was nearing its end, and I couldn’t think of anything worse but returning to work…so I started Rosie’s Casting Studio!

Today, we are living the good life and my micro-preemie is now at school! I'm so happy that my creative side found a job opportunity that allowed me to be flexible with family life and remain a partial stay at home Mum!

In 2023, the success of Rosie's Casting Studio, pushed me to take things a step further. Recognising the potential of lifecasting as a flexible, creative, and rewarding career for Mums like myself, I launched 'Rosie's Casting Academy'. This part of my business enables me to share my knowledge and skills, guiding aspiring lifecasters to kickstart their own businesses, as well as helping seasoned lifecasters refine their craft and grow.

Time is elusive, isn't it? One moment, they're tiny bundles in our arms; the next, they're exploring the world on their own. My dream is to help you cherish those fleeting moments a little longer, creating tangible memories that you can treasure forever. Whether it's creating a keepsake for you or teaching you to make your own, I'm here to help you with it.

So, that's a bit about me, my passion, and my 'why'. Now, I can't wait to be a part of your story, preserving a special moment in time or helping you to start a lifecasting journey of your own.
